ABOUT SKI CITY
A DIFFERENT ADVENTURE EVERY DAY
Nestled at the base of the Wasatch Front, Ski City encompasses Salt Lake's distinct areas, unique neighborhoods, and four amazing mountain resorts. Alta, Brighton, Snowbird, and Solitude host skiers and riders of all ages and skill levels all winter long. The city is everything from young-and-liberal downtown Salt Lake City to cozy, family-friendly Sandy; from the diverse dining mecca of West Valley to the legendary snow patterns of Little Cottonwood Canyon. But it's so much more than a circumscribed region on a Utah map.
Ski City hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics, which set the stage for an ever-evolving young, metropolitan city with small town vibes. It's the incubator and home base for hundreds of ski and outdoor businesses. It’s where thousands of bars, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, and cafés have opened their doors. It's where thousands of ski-minded students come to get their university educations (and faceshots). It’s where big box retailers and tiny boutiques share space with museums, art galleries, and theaters.
You can grab your coffee to go and be on the slopes in 30 minutes. After a day of shredding the slopes, you can live like a local and nosh at a deli before browsing for records at a local thrift shop. Then get to know the locals with a brew or two at a neighborhood bar before catching your favorite acts at a concert venue.
Ski City is an experience, and it's one of a kind.
Welcome to Salt Lake. Welcome to Ski City.
